Bevel

A bevel is an angled cut running across a board's edge or face at anything other than 90 degrees, cut all the way through the thickness rather than just easing the corner. A tilted table saw or circular saw blade is the usual way to cut one. A full bevel changes a piece's actual geometry -- picture frame corners, angled box sides -- as opposed to a chamfer, which only softens an edge without altering the piece's overall shape.
