Neanderthal (Galoot, Normite)

Within online hand-tool woodworking communities, "Neanderthal" (or "galoot") is affectionate slang for a woodworker who works primarily or exclusively with hand tools -- planes, saws, chisels -- by preference rather than necessity. "Normite," the tongue-in-cheek counterpart, describes a woodworker happy to reach for a table saw, router, or planer without any philosophical objection to power tools.

Neither term is a rigid category -- most working woodworkers land somewhere on a spectrum between the two rather than purely at one end -- and the labels function more as a decades-old community in-joke, tracing back to an early hand-tool-focused woodworking mailing list, than as any kind of serious taxonomy.
